Get Behind Me Satan

“we are followers of Jesus Christ and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the cross.”

Pope Francis

THE CROSS OF CHRIST IS VICTORY – HIS and OURS! And Yes, HUMANLY SPEAKING TOO!

“Get Behind Me Satan”, Jesus Said – See context below at end of post.

(Hebrews 12:2 [AKJV])
Looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Is this man off his Popish Rocker? The Lord of Glory left heaven, was born through a virgin, lived a sinless life, offered a perfect sacrifice, his own self, to God on the cross, shedding His blood, satisfying the the righteous and just wrath of God against sin in His own body, purchase us and secured for us the forgiveness of sins that we may be reconciled to God through Him, – He was buried and ROSE AGAIN on the third day and this Pope calls that “the failure of the cross”?

Pope Quote: “The cross shows us a different way of measuring success. Ours is to plant the seeds. God sees to the fruits of our labors. And if at times our efforts and works seem to fail and not produce fruit, we need to remember that we are followers of Jesus Christ and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the cross.”

Humanly speaking, ……. lets hear the apostle’s words which, if this pope would preach the gospel, would do well to take heed and also preach.

(Acts 2:22 [AKJV])
You men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the middle of you, as you yourselves also know:

(Acts 2:23 [AKJV])
Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

(Acts 2:24 [AKJV])
Whom God has raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be held of it.

No, no, no the cross was NOT a failure, “humanly speaking” nor otherwise.

Jesus Christ was set for the cross from before the foundation of the world – it has been the plan of God for eons and it was PERFECTLY fulfilled as planned, as prophesied and because of it, we have access to the Father through Christ. The failure was spoken of by Jesus here:

1) (Matthew 16:3 [AKJV])
And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O you hypocrites, you can discern the face of the sky; but can you not discern the signs of the times?

2) (Luke 19:43 [AKJV])
For the days shall come on you, that your enemies shall cast a trench about you, and compass you round, and keep you in on every side,

(Luke 19:44 [AKJV])
And shall lay you even with the ground, and your children within you; and they shall not leave in you one stone on another; because you knew not the time of your visitation.

3) (Matthew 16:21 [AKJV])
From that time forth began Jesus to show to his disciples, how that he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

(Matthew 16:22 [AKJV])
Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from you, Lord: this shall not be to you.

(Matthew 16:23 [AKJV])
But he turned, and said to Peter, Get you behind me, Satan: you are an offense to me: for you mind not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

(Matthew 16:24 [AKJV])
Then said Jesus to his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
